Pure Pens Glens Of Antrim

Pure Pens is an online store, based in UK. Some time ago they launched their own line of inks – 6 colours at first, there’re new ones still coming. All the names are UK-related.

Pure Pens Glens Of Antrim

It’s a very nice medium, sunny green.

Flow – very good. I didn’t have any troubles with this ink. It writes smoothly, there’re no hard starts or skipping. It may start with a darker colour if unused for a few days.

Saturation – very good. Could be a bit better, but it’s completely legible – it’s just my taste.

Bleeding – average. Nothing on fountain pen friendly papers, some spots on a copy paper.

Feathering – minimal on a crappy paper

Shading – little bigger than medium, very nice.

Dry time – little better than average, about 20s on Rhodia

Water resistance – after 5 minutes underwater, there’s a trace still visible and pretty legible.

Comparison:

Pure Pens Glens Of Antrim

It’s a very nice ink for a good price. The colour is not too warm and not too cold, the same with the saturation. It behaves nicely as well, I can’t say a bad word about it. I need to try out some other colours! 🙂

Pros:

  • nice colour
  • good behaviour
  • some kind of water resistance
  • dries pretty quickly
  • good price

Cons:

  • availability – it’s available only in Pure Pens store
